The Hopewell HS Bowling team wrapped up their opening week in dominant fashion by sweeping the Beaver Bobcats at Center Lanes on Friday.

The Vikings finished the week with a perfect 42-0 record across two matches.

HOPEWELL GIRLS VARSITY:
The Lady Vikings entered the day short-handed and immediately found themselves in a nail-biter to start the match.

Freshman Fion Zelechowski, making her first varsity start, delivered under pressure with a career-high 113. Junior Danica Jackson stayed red-hot from Wedneday, adding a 145 and helping lift Hopewell to a Game 1 win by fewer than 25 pins. Jackson is off to a remarkable start to the season, currently averaging nearly 40 pins above her sophomore mark.

Junior captain Annabeth Sembower anchored the team with a match-best 480 series. MVP honors were shared by Zelechowski and Jackson for their clutch performances in the day’s tightest game.

HOPEWELL BOYS’ VARSITY:
The Boys also swept their matchup against Beaver, powered by junior Aidan Heppner, who rolled his first 600 series of the season, a 614 highlighted by going 11-for11 on makeable spares.

Sophomore Max Butter bounced back strong with a 223 game and a 591 series. Junior Ayden Gault added a 566 with a 205 opener, and senior captain Brayden Mowry contributed the match’s high game for the second straight contest with a 225 on his way to a 577 series.

Both Gault and Mowry have been models of consistency, each carrying a 200+ average across the first two weeks of the season.

Junior Will Holland returned to the lineup and made the most of it, firing a career-high 204 game and 512 series.

HOPEWELL BOYS’ JUNIOR VARSITY:
The JV squad kept the momentum rolling, completing their first full matchup of the season with a 7-0 sweep. Freshman Desmond Sembower led the way with a 433 series, followed closely by sophomore Jordan Jacobs at 428. Freshman Nate Cronin added a varsity-caliber 157, while freshman Richie Yeager, sophomore Sam Bologna, and junior Revan Fazio all posted scores well above their early-season averages.

**Hopewell will head into a tough matchup next week against the Beaver Falls Tigers on Wednesday, at Sheffield Lanes.
