Mike Vukovcan It wasn’t easy but the Hopewell HS Girls basketball program is back in the WPIAL Playoffs.
The Lady Vikings needed to win their last 3 games in order to qualify and that’s exactly what they did. The clincher was a 55-13 win on Saturday at Ambridge.
Coach Homziak’s team will now prepare all week for the playoffs which will begin for them one week from today.
This afternoon, the WPIAL announced the 2026 playoff matchups, and the Lady Vikings will be taking on a familiar opponent, Elizabeth Forward. This was the same team that Hopewell played last year in the playoffs.
The matchup on Monday will take place at Elizabeth Forward High School with a tipoff set for 7 PM.
Hopewell received a No. 12 seed, while Elizabeth Forward is the No. 5 seed with a record of 16-5 and 12-2 in conference.
