Slowly but surely the national interest in Hopewell QB James Armstrong is not surprisingly picking up.
Today, the talented sophomore received his latest Power 4 offer and it’s a big one. Armstrong learned today that he’s been offered a scholarship from Florida State.
Armstrong now holds Power 4 offers from Pitt, Penn State, Duke, West Virginia and North Carolina.
“I love the school,” Armstrong tells Vikings Sports Now. “I think Florida would be a great place to live so it made my happy to receive an offer from such a prestigious school such as Florida State. I’m hoping to get there for a visit.”
Speaking of visits, this past weekend, Armstrong made an official visit on Saturday to take in a West Virginia spring practice. In the near future, he’s expected to drive down to watch a Pitt Panther spring practice, once they return from spring break.
The 6’3″, 225-pound left-hander finished his sophomore season passing for 2,350 yards, rushing for 760 yards, scoring a combined 37 touchdowns, while throwing only 3 interceptions.
All of that led his team to finish 7-4 and to qualify and win a WPIAL playoff game for the first time in a decade.
