2 Hopewell Players Invited to Penn State’s ‘White Out’

The biggest game in college football will take place tomorrow in State College as No. 3 Penn State hosts No. 6 Oregon.

To make the evening even larger, Penn State will be having their yearly ‘White Out’ event as the 107,000+ fans at Beaver Stadium will all be wearing white.

It’s one of the coolest scenes in all of college football.

The reason we’re mentioning this is because two of the 200+ recruits in attendance will be from the Hopewell Vikings football program.

Both sophomore quarterback James Armstrong and senior kicker Rocco Marcantonio received invites to attend the game. That’s noteworthy because this is Penn State’s biggest recruiting event of the season.

Last week, Armstrong received an offer from Penn State, when HC James Franklin and assistant coach Terry Smith visited Hopewell to inform HC Matt Mottes.

At this time, Marcantonio doesn’t hold an offer from Penn State but he’s made multiple unofficial visits there and has kicked in front of their coaches.

Marcantonio made headlines a week ago when he booted a 55-yard field goal against Avonworth. That kick tied his WPIAL record that he set a year ago.
