Mike Vukovcan A big-time volleyball match between two undefeated teams will be taking place tonight at Hopewell High School.
No. 1 ranked Hopewell (8-0) will host rival OLSH. These are perennially two of the top programs in Class AA, which is the case again this season.
Hopewell has already played and beaten Avonworth and Quaker Valley, two of their other rivals but tonight will be their biggest challenge of the season.
While there’s plenty of season still left with Hopewell having to play Avonworth, Quaker Valley and OLSH a second time, first place is on the line tonight.
“We have a tremendous amount of respect for the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart volleyball program. They have some very talented players,” said Hopewell HC Terry Borkovic.
“Our girls are very focused and the practices have been high energy! We’re excited for this opportunity. We’re relaxed and have experience playing in big matches. It should be an exciting match. One of our goals is to win the section title.”
This is a crucial portion of the schedule as Hopewell’s next 3 matches will be against: OLSH, Quaker Valley (September 25th) and at Avonworth (September 29th).
