A huge congratulations to the 2004 Hopewell HS Girls Volleyball team who were officially inducted last night into the WPIAL Hall of Fame.
The WPIAL Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place on Friday night as a star-studded class were honored.
Along with the women and coaches from Hopewell, Kurt Angle (Mt. The 2004 Hopewell Girls Volleyball team was one of the best teams in the history of the WPIAL and PIAA.

In 2004, that dominant team won its third consecutive WPIAL championship, the PIAA Class AA championship, the section championship, the MAC Championship, won the Montour Tournament the Blackhawk Tournament and the State College Tournament championships.
Hall of Fame coach Terry Borkovic’s squad finished the season undefeated in section play and entered the year with an incredible 59-0 winning streak against WPIAL opponents.
That incredible team was led by Christa Harmotto, one of the greatest athletes in the history of Hopewell High School. Harmotto was named the 2004 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year and a PrepVolleyball.com All-American. After staring at Hopewell, Harmotto took her talents to Penn State and eventually to the national stage as she earned a spot on the USA Women’s Olympic Team (2012 and 2016).

The talent on that team spread out beyond Harmotto as that Vikings team produced five D-1 volleyball players, along with several athletes who went on to play college sports.
At the banquet last night, Hopewell was represented by Aubre Phillips, Danelle Wagner, Annie Yokitis, Annie Cairns and Jessy Bouselli, who received Hall of Fame medals.
