It will be a big day couple of days for five members of the Hopewell Bowling Team.

Daniel Earley, Aidan Heppner, Ayden Gault, Max Butter and Annabeth Sembower will compete tomorrow and Thursday in the WPIBL individual championship at AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes.

In order to qualify for this tournament, a bowler must have competed in at least 21 varsity matches over the course of a year, with the male bowler needing to average a 170 and the women a 130 average.

During WPIBL play this year, 472 different men logged games, while 263 logged games. Of this group, the top 134 men and 80 women met the requirements to qualify for the playoffs.

After Thursday, 74 bowlers from both the men and women will move on to the PA Western Regional Playoffs next week.

For Earley, Heppner, Gault and Butter, this will be their first time competing in the individual playoffs, while Dembower will be making a return visit.

Earley finished the year with a 187.42 average, Heppner a 184.88 average, Gault a 179.55 average and Butter finished with a 172.43 average.

Sembower finished the season with a 150.25 average and was ranked 3rd in the section.

Sembower will bowl Thursday, with the boys getting under way tomorrow.

Good luck Vikings!
