Mike Vukovcan Although we’re a couple days late in reporting, Vikings Sports Now wanted to congratulate a few Hopewell student athletes for receiving a nice honor.
Earlier this week, Hopewell softball standout Victoria Mann and Hopewell baseball players Ben McDonald and Charlie Smetana received some worthy recognition.
All three of those players were named to the WPIAL All-Section teams, which is voted on by coaches in the section.
Following her senior season in which she batted .650 with 10 doubles, 7 HRs, 33 RBI, 24 runs scored and throwing out 8 runners, Mann was selected as the WPIAL Section 2 catcher.
Congrats Victoria!!
Looking at baseball, McDonald and Smetana were voted to the Class 4A All-Section One team. Smetana was the catcher, while McDonald was part of the outfield.
