The Hopewell Junior High girls’ soccer team had a big win over Beaver on Wednesday.

When these two teams met earlier in the season Hopewell walked away with a loss but this time around the game looked different.

The Viking girls came to play, and their perseverance secured them a 1-0 win, with the only goal of the game shot by Kendall Bain, assisted by Afton Budris.

The girls had a rough start to the season but seem to be turning things around with this latest win showcasing teamwork, determination and grit. They have one final game of the season at Freedom High School on October 1st at 4:45pm with the Junior High boys team playing before them at 3:30pm.

Also wanted to mention the effort of the Girls HS Soccer team.

While they’re certainly a bit short-handed this season, that didn’t stop them from competing and giving an outstanding effort against Avonworth

The Lady Vikings took Avonworth to double overtime before losing 1-0. Avonworth’s Kelle Herkaralyn scored the GW goal with just 1 second left on the clock.
