One year ago, Smetana was a player thats strength was his defensive and his hitting was a work in progress.

Thanks to plain old hard work and dedication, a year later, Smetana is a legit top of the order hitter, that has even improved his defense (which seemed hard to do).
Smetana’s on-field production has been recognized as he’s been voted the Beaver County Times Male Athlete of the Week for his performance two weeks ago.
This was the first time that he’s win this honor and Charlie wanted to make sure to thank the people that took the time to vote for him.
“I am incredibly grateful to everyone who voted for me for the Beaver County Times Athlete of the Week,” said Smetana. “Your support means the world to me, and I couldn’t have achieved this without your encouragement and belief in me.
