Mike Vukovcan Following their convincing win over Freeport, the Hopewell Vikings football program is once again receiving recognition throughout the WPIAL.
The weekly WPIAL rankings were released today by various media outlets and Coach Mottes’ team is mentioned.
Hopewell, which improved to 6-2, is ranked No. 4 in Class 3A by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

5. Elizabeth Forward
The respected Twitter account, WPIAL Insider, has Hopewell at No. 7. What’s interesting about that is that the Vikings next two opponents are ranked ahead of them.
WPIAL Sportsmen also has Hopewell out of their Top 5 as he lists Avonworth, Imani, Elizabeth Forward, Central Valley and North Catholic as his top five.
Hopewell will have the opportunity to make a statement in their last two games as they host both Central Valley and North Catholic.
