It was a great day for the Hopewell Girls Junior High Volleyball team.
This afternoon, both the 7th and 8th grade teams defeated Eden Christian Academy. This is the second consecutive victory for the 7th grade team.
In the 7th grade match, the Lady Vikings won the first set 25-21 and finished things up by winning the second set, 25-11!
Brooke Otto was outstanding from the service line as she delivered 10 aces out of her 16 serves.

As a team, of their 48 serves, Hopewell players had 24 aces.
Following Otto’s 10 aces, Leah Buettner had 5, Sam Holsinger delivered 4,  Arionna Shell had 3, while Arianna Fischer and Alyssa Phillips each had 1.
In the 8th grade match, it went three sets, with the Vikings winning set one, 27-25. Eden Christian rebounded in set two winning, 26-24 and in the third and deciding set, it was Hopewell winning, 15-13.
8th won their match in 3 sets but it was an adventure.
The first set, Hopewell had a slight lead all the way, but it was back and forth and Hopewell won a close one.
In the second set the Vikings fell behind and were down 15-10 before rallying for to tie it back up at 15-15 and then again at 23-23 but Eden was able to pull it out at the very end.
The third set was a great comeback as Hopewell fell behind 10-4 but were able claw back into it with Liliana Katcher providing some clutch serves to take the lead 14-13 after being down 10-12.
Here was match point!
Katcher led the way for Hopewell with 7 aces, followed by Lillian Otto with 6, Abby Babinsack with 5, Ava Ray and Gianna Rossi each served 2 aces while Bella Cipolla had one.
