Believe it or not, baseball season is here and before we know it, the players and coaches will be on the fields at our Kane Road Complex.
Vikings Sports Now spoke with Hopewell Youth Baseball President Jon Lavia, who provided an update on dates that parents need to mark down as well as some other league news.
REGISTRATION-
-Registration for the 2025 spring season will officially close tonight at Midnight for Coaches Pitch, Minors and Little League.
This is important because there’s still time for you to register your child for the upcoming season. Lavia says that the league could really use two more players for Little League and REALLY need one more player for Minors. As things currently stand with enrollment, there will be 6 teams for coaches’ pitch, 4 each for Little League and 4 for Minors.
-Registration for Tee Ball and Modified Tee Ball will remain open thru early March.
IMPORTANT DATES-
-New player evaluations were held on February 22nd and all players will be allocated to teams when the teams are formed. That is expected to take place within the next week so parents should expect some sort of communication from their kid’s respective coach.
-Hopewell Select (aka All-Stars) will hold tryouts for 8U-11U age groups on March 15th at the Hopewell Junior High School Lower Gym. Evaluators are needed. The evaluation will take place from 11 AM until 1 PM.
-Field Preparation and Cleanup Days are scheduled for April 13th and April 19th at the Kane Road Facility. This is very important as it gets us ready for the upcoming season. Any help and time that parents and even players can provide is greatly appreciated.
IMPORTANT NEWS AND NOTES-
-A golf outing committee is being formed. If you’d like to join and help us plan our outing for 2025, please contact Heather Kennedy harmon.heather@gmail.com
