We’re just 5 days away from a ‘Musical Weekend’ in Hopewell.

Starting this Friday and running through Sunday, the Hopewell High School Musical team will have a 3-day production of their yearly musical as this year it will be ‘Mean Girls’.

Mean Girls is based on the 2004 American teen comedy produced by Lorne Michaels and directed by Mark Waters from a screenplay by Tina Fey with Linday Lohan playing the lead role.

Vikings Sports Now recently had the chance to spend some time with the person in charge of this production, Hopewell’s musical director Celeste Beley.

This was a very enjoyable conversation in which Beley tells us about the thought process of selecting ‘Mean Girls’, which wasn’t as easy as you might think. Plus, we discuss why this particular musical is so meaningful, her background and an emotional answer on how much these students mean to her.

Mean Girls starts on Friday (March 13) at 7:30 pm, Saturday (March 14th) at 7:30 pm and Sunday (March 15th) at 2 PM.
