Hopewell sophomore outfielder James Armstrong’s impressive week on the baseball field was recognized by a Pittsburgh newspaper.
The Pittsburgh Tribune Review has named Armstrong the Trib HSSN Player of the Week.

In 3 games this past week, Armstrong went 9-for-13, with 5 runs scored and 6 RBI. That included a game against North Catholic in which he went 6-for-6 with 3 runs and 3 RBIs.
The most important thing is that Armstrong’s team went 3-0 this week, including an important 2-game sweep of section opponent North Catholic.

Currently, Hopewell has a record of 6-3 and 4-2 in the section, which is tied for second place with Beaver.
For the season, Armstrong is batting .552 with 17 hits, has scored 12 runs, driven in 9 runs and has a .618 on-base percentage from the leadoff spot.
This performance comes on the heels of Armstrong leading the Hopewell HS basketball team in scoring with 19.8 points per game and helping them advance to the playoffs for the first time in 16 seasons.
Football is his future sport as he’s looking to improve upon a sophomore season in which he completed 125 of 209 passes for 2,217 yards, 21 touchdown passes, while rushing for 739 yards and running for 17 touchdowns.
Armstrong currently has college scholarship offers from Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, Duke, North Carolina, Colorado, Florida State and Ole Miss.
Today, Armstrong is making an unofficial visit to attend a Syracuse spring practice.
