Mike Vukovcan It’s hard to believe but we’re now halfway through the high school soccer season for the Hopewell Vikings.
First head coach Ben Bezems and his program currently hold a record of 2-2-1 and are entering an important part of the schedule.
Four teams from Class 2A/Section 2 qualify for the playoffs and Hopewell is currently tied for 4th place with Mohawk, which means they need to start stacking as many wins as possible.
Hopewell is gaining both confidence and momentum as they gone 3-1-1 over their last 5 matches, including a 0-0 tie last week vs. perennial power Beaver. Keep in mind, their last 2 losses have both been by a score of 1-0, so if this team can start filling up the net, they can be dangerous in the second half of the season.

Beaver: 5-1-1 (Hopewell tied them, 0-0)
Ambridge: 5-1 (Hopewell lost to them, 1-0)

The Vikings will have back-to-back home matches starting tonight against South Side and then tomorrow against Ambridge.
Tonight’s contest against South Side will begin at 6:30 PM, so if you’re schedule is free, stop over and support this growing program.
Tomorrow is a big night as it’s Senior Recognition Night and it’s also Food Truck Night at Tony Dorsett Stadium.
The JV match tomorrow vs. Ambridge will begin at 6 PM, with Senior Recognition at 7 PM, followed by the Varsity match at 7:30 PM.
