The excitement for the return of the Hopewell High School football season just got stronger.

After a promising 2024 season in which noticeable strides were made, the Vikings program have added a talented player to the mix.

Talented athlete Nasir ‘Bruiser’ Wade and his family made the recent decision to transfer to the Hopewell School District. Wade formerly attended Aliquippa High School.

Despite being just a freshman, Wade has already gotten the attention of D-1 programs as he’s received D-1 offers from both Akron and Buffalo. That speaks to the talent that Wade possess.

Wade projects to be used as a running back in Hopewell’s offensive system.

When you add Wade to a Hopewell offense that is scheduled to return players such as freshman quarterback James Armstrong, freshman running back Brody Rock, junior wide receiver Logan Triscila, junior athlete Kingston Krotec, freshman wide receiver Tre Cameron, freshman wide receiver Avery Bokor and junior tight end Jake Pollick.

That’s quite a few weapons for Vikings offensive coordinator Zach Rosa to be able to utilize, which means putting up points on the scoreboard shouldn’t be an issue.

With the addition of Wade, Hopewell’s roster now has 3 players with D-1 scholarship offers- Armstrong (Pitt, Akron and Sacramento State), junior kicker Rocco Marcantonio (Akron) and Wade (Akron and Buffalo). This is exciting because D-1 programs will be continuing to visit the high school and Tony Dorsett Stadium, but it also means that other players on the roster will have the opportunity to be noticed by college coaches.
