A&S Federal Credit Union are proud sponsors of Hopewell Boys and Girls High School, Junior High and Youth Sports.
The Hopewell High School swim team had a fantastic first day on Thursday at the WPIAL Swim Championships held at the University of Pittsburgh Tree Pools.
In total, HC Kathi Lopez’s program has 9 swimmers scheduled to compete in 22 events over this 2-day event.
Here were the highlights from Thursday’s Day One:
*Girl’s 200 Medley relay of Ava Yoder, Hazel McCowin, Emma Driscoll, and Lindsey Brown posted their best time of the season 1:58.44.

*Boy’s 200 Medley relay of Mitchell Ryan, Joel Olshanski, Tyler Oliver, and Joey Gregory posted their best time 1:52.92.
*Joey Gregory posted his best time in the 200 free 1:53.69.
*Hazel McCowin again broke her own school record and took 2nd overall in the 200 IM 2:10.59.

*Tyler Oliver had his last individual event and posted a 59.70 in the 100 Butterfly, just a few tenths off his best.
*Girl’s 200 free relay of Lindsey Brown, Evelyn Cagnon, Ava Yoder, and Emma Driscoll had a great swim! 1:50.84.
*The Boy’s 200 free relay posted their best time 1:38.87. This was an emotional last swim together for our Senior Boys Mitchell Ryan, Tyler Oliver, Joel Olshanski and Joey Gregory.
Day Two will take place this morning and throughout the afternoon.
