The Hopewell HS Softball opened up 2026 section play with a road game against Mohawk and for the second straight game they found themselves trailing early.

In their last game against North Catholic, the Vikings gave up 8 runs in the first two innings, enroute to a 11-3 loss.

Yesterday, Mohawk scored 15 runs in the top of the first inning and went on to win 16-2 in a 4.5 inning game.

Hopewell reached base 7 times with 4 hits (Claire Sarkis, Allison Ramaley, Marina Pinchotti and Kamryn Roche), while Pinchotti, Abigail Babinsack and Isabella Cipolla drew walks.

RBI getters for Hopewell were freshman Lillian Otto and Ramaley.

This young and inexperienced Hopewell team had the misfortunate of going up against a talented Mohawk team so this will no doubt be a learning experience and hopefully one in which they can grow from.

Tip of the cap to Cipolla who pitched the remaining 3 innings allowing just 2 hits, 1 earned run, while striking out 2 batters.

Hopewell falls to 0-3 on the season and will return to the field on Tuesday (April 7th) as they’ll host Avonworth. First pitch from Hopewell High School will take place at 4 PM.
