vikingssportsn The Hopewell Junior High Girls soccer team had an impressive win on Monday against a strong West Allegheny team.
West Allegheny jumped on the scoreboard first, but Hopewell responded right before the half as Amzey Budris capitalized on a pass from Kendall Bain.

The second half was a tight, defensive contest in which Hopewell played very strong. The defensive line was impenetrable with big efforts from Jace Muller, Mackenzie Bellomo, Brea Walker and Madison Morley.
Along with this strong defense, Hopewell’s offense got going as well as Bain took a pass from Budris and found the back of the net to give Hopewell a 2-1 lead.
West Allegheny attempted to make a comeback, but all of their attempts were stopped by Hopewell goalie Cora Quinn.
Hopewell then iced the game when Budris finished her tremendous game by scoring her second goal of the game. One again she was set up by Bain as that duo was key to Hopewell’s win.
The win improved Hopewell’s win to 3-2, with those two losses coming by just one goal to Central Valley and Avonworth.
Next up for Hopewell is a matchup on Wednesday on the road at Beaver. The first time these two teams met, Hopewell came away with a 2-0 win. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm.
