Hopewell Township- To borrow a phrase from the late, great Mike Lange “It’s a Basketball Night in Hopewell”.

Tonight, over at the Hopewell Junior High School, the Hopewell Boys 3rd Grade Travel team took on the Ambridge Bridgers in the semifinals of the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Tournament.

The matchup in the regular season was close one with Hopewell coming out on top, 22-16. That wasn’t the case tonight as the Vikings blitzed the Bridgers from the opening tip, enroute to a 28-9 victory.

This puts Hopewell in the championship game next week against an opponent to be determined.

The most impress aspect of the Vikings play tonight was the unselfishness that they displayed in making the extra pass and wanting to get the ball to their teammates.

This team looked very well coached with the set plays they ran so credit head coach Andrew Honess and his staff for the job they’ve done with these kids.

Vikings Sports Now was in attendance and here’s the recap of the action.
