The Hopewell HS football team will look to remain undefeated this Friday as they travel to take on the Ambridge Bridgers at Moe Rubenstein Stadium.
In a game highlighted by a long-weather delay, Hopewell defeated Ambridge last season 35-34 in OT, but something tells me that the game won’t be as close this season. I’ll get into that later on in the week when I give my game prediction.
Until then, Vikings Sports Now wanted to pass along some news and notes concerning the Hopewell football team.
–Over the weekend, a few members of the team made GameDay visits to Power 4 college football programs.
*Sophomore quarterback James Armstrong received an invite to attend Penn State’s 2025 opener against Nevada.

*Three Hopewell players were in Morgantown for West Virginia’s season opener against the Robert Morris Colonials. Sophomore running back Nasir Wade, junior defensive tackle Keith Young and junior linebacker George Tafkov received invites to watch the Mountaineers. Considering all three of these players have another season of high school, it’ll be interesting to see if anything more develops between them and West Virginia. Wade currently holds D-1 offers from Akron and Buffalo.
