Mike Vukovcan Following their 1st round win over McGuffey last night, the Hopewell HS Girls Volleyball team received some good news this morning.
It’s been announced that the Vikings quarterfinal matchup against Burrell High School will be played at Hopewell High School.
The match will take place tomorrow night at 7 PM. Burrell is the No. 8 seed and are coming off of a sweep of Brownsville last night.
Here are the other results from Class AA from Tuesday evening.
Burrell over Brownsville (3 sets to none).
OLSH over South Allegheny (3 sets to none).
Mohawk over Southmoreland (3 sets to none).
Waynesburg over Quaker Valley (3 sets to none).
Neshannock over South Park (3 sets to 1).
Seton-LaSalle over Shenango (3 sets to 1).
Avonworth over Riverside (3 sets to 2).

No.1 Hopewell vs. No. 8 Brownsville
No. 4 OLSH vs. No. 5 Mohawk
No. 2 Waynesburg vs. No. 10 Neshannock
No. 3 Seton LaSalle vs. No. 11 Avonworth
If Hopewell is able to defeat Burrell, the semifinal match will be played at a neutral site, meaning, this will be the last home match for the seniors on Hopewell’s roster.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen what a tremendous atmosphere Hopewell High School can be for a big volleyball match. Let’s make tomorrow night a true home court advantage for Hopewell, which hopefully helps them advance to the semifinals next week.
