A day after the two high school teams battled, the Hopewell and Central Valley junior varsity football teams did battle this morning.
A week after an impressive shutout win over Blackhawk, HC Scott Aguglia’s squad went out and picked up an impressive 27-22 win.
Highlights of today’s win:
*Quarterback Evan McCabe threw for 140 yards and 4 touchdowns.
*Wide receiver Maddux Fattore with 65 yards receiving and 2 TD’s.
*Wide receiver Roman Amadio 3 catches for 50 yards.
*Running back Greg Gigliotti 100 yards rushing and numerous tackle.
*Tight end Javion Lindsey, a newcomer to the football program, with his first receiving touchdown.
*Cornerback Brian Olden came up with 2 interceptions. Plus a nice job in the secondary by Dom Boris, Josh Gill, Fattore and Olden with coverage and breakup.
*Sam Crawford with a quarterback sack. Emma DiCicco with outstanding play at linebacker.
*Shoutout to Hopewell’s offensive and defensive line as Tyler Schroeder, Jake Hall, Landen Matthews, Ethan Smith, Levi Loos, Canaan Acosta and company for stopping the CV blitz, tackles around the line and pressuring the quarterback.
Vikings Sports Now caught up with Coach Aguglia who told us, “I’m so proud of this JV team this season. I couldn’t be any happier to coach these fantastic kids.”
