Following an impressive 63-0 win last night over McGuffey, the Hopewell Vikings football team received a nice opportunity today.
Members of the Vikings team were invited to Acrisure Stadium for a gameday visit for Pitt’s game against Boston College. Hopewell was able to see one of Pitt’s best performances in years as they defeated Boston College, 48-7.
In all, I’m told that 41 players traveled to the North Shore for a neat experience. The players were able to feel what it’s like for recruits to go on an unofficial visit, which included being on the field for pre-game warmups.
One of the players in the group actually was on an unofficial visit as sophomore quarterback James Armstrong made another visit to check out the Pitt program.

This experience was put together by Hopewell HC Matt Mottes, including renting the bus and buying the tickets.
Following this team bonding day, the Vikings will return to work on Monday as they prepare for a big non-section game against Freeport (5-1).
