Vikings Sports Now wanted to let you know about a former Hopewell Vikings standout that’s continuing to perform and get better at the college level.
It’s hard to believe that former Hopewell shortstop Anthony LaSala is already a junior with the Pitt Panther baseball team. It only seems like yesterday that LaSala was leading the Vikings to a WPIAL Baseball Championship, which he did back in 2021.
Hopewell softball and youth baseball is sponsored by Lisa McCoy, your neighborhood State Farm agent.
LaSala is a reserve shortstop for Mike Bell and the Pitt Panthers and yesterday, Anthony got the start as Pitt took on No. 8 North Carolina. Not only did the Panthers win but LaSala made a top-notch defensive play in the field that we wanted to show you.

During his Pitt career, LaSala had made 44 starts and has always been a top-notch defender. During his freshman season while starting, Anthony helped turn 24 double plays while playing up the middle.
