The Hopewell Girls 4×100 relay team is in Shippensburg this weekend for the PIAA Track and Field Championships.

Senior Maya Richburg, junior Avery Boyd, and sophomores Harley Hample and Tessa Burgess qualified for the state meet last week with their 5th place finish in the WPIAL Championship meet. They ran a season best time of 51.02 last week and are in great shape to improve on that performance.

This is Maya’s 4th straight year competing at States on the relay. She ran the first leg on the school record setting team her freshman year in 2023, along with Lauryn Speicher, Aubryanna Snyder, and Emma Palmieri.

Avery Boyd is on her 3rd straight year on the relay. Hample, who also earned an 8th place medal in the 400m last week, and Burgess, who was 9th in the 100m hurdles- are competing in their 1st state championships.

They will run in the preliminary heats on Friday at 12:15 pm for the opportunity to compete in the final on Saturday morning. Great job and good luck girls!
