Mike Vukovcan With the start of the regular season just one week away, the Hopewell High School football team will have a little tune up game tomorrow.
Saturday morning starting at 10 AM from Tony Dorsett Stadium, Hopewell will take on the Ellwood City Wolverines in a scrimmage.
These two teams met last season in a scrimmage that took place at Ellwood City.
I would imagine like it was last year, hitting the quarterback will be off-limits, in order to avoid injury.
This will be a good opportunity for the Hopewell players to work on some things against another team and it Aldo gives the coaches to look at players in game-like conditions.
In terms of the format, each offense will get 10 plays to run before the other team takes over. Regardless if a touchdown is scored or a turnover occurs, the offense keeps the ball for 10 plays.
I’m not sure how many offensive possessions each team will get.
A week from tonight, Hopewell will open the season for real as they go on the road to take on Riverside.
Two other Hopewell teams will be in action tomorrow in scrimmages as the Girls volleyball team hosts Upper St. Clair at 10 AM, while the Boys soccer team hosts West Allegheny at 3 PM.
