While the current weather might not feel like it, it’s almost baseball season here in Hopewell.

In fact, the Hopewell High School baseball team will be starting their season in less than one month. Since the beginning of the calendar year, the varsity and junior high teams have been preparing with workouts throughout the week.

Hopewell softball and youth baseball is sponsored by Lisa McCoy, your neighborhood State Farm agent.

The varsity and junior high teams aren’t the only teams that will be in action soon because before long our youth programs will begin their official preparation for the 2025 Spring Season.

As an informal way of kicking things off, Coach Singletary and his players are hosting a one-day Winter Camp for youth players in Hopewell.

On March 1st, the varsity team is hosting their 2nd annual Youth Baseball Winter Camp. This will take place in the Aux Gym at the Hopewell High School Gym.

For kids ages 4-8, the session will be from 8:00 AM-10:00 AM with the cost being $30. For kids 9-12, the session will be from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM with the cost being $40. Each camper will receive a Camp t-shirt, they’ll be competitions taking place with prizes.

This is a neat opportunity because the kids get an opportunity to work and interact with Coach Singletary and members of the varsity team. Kids will get the chance to work on important fundamental skills, build confidence and have fun in a supportive environment.

This was a tremendous success last year and those involved will no doubt make it the same this year.

Remember, this camp will take place on March 1st, so there’s still time for you to sign up. Tag your friends and spreads the word!
