Mike Vukovcan While they’d much rather have this ranking at the end of the season, the Hopewell HS Girls Volleyball program received some nice recognition today.
The Lady Vikings are the No. 1 ranked team in Class AA per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
That ranking will be put to the test tomorrow evening as the 4-0 Vikings will host perennial rival Avonworth at Hopewell High School.
Here are the Class 2A rankings from the Post-Gazette.
CLASS 2A:
1) Hopewell (4-0)
2) South Park (3-1)
3) Shenango (2-0)
4) Seton LaSalle (3-1)
5) Waynesburg (4-0)
Being ranked is nothing new to Coach Borkovic’s program as they spent much of last season inside the Top 5. The Vikings finished No. 2 after losing to Quaker Valley in the WPIAL championship match.
The obvious goal this season is to finish 2025 as the No. 1 team.
VSN encourages you to come over to Hopewell High School tomorrow night to check out what will be an outstanding matchup between two talented teams. The Hopewell/Avonworth JV match will start at 6 PM, with the Varsity match getting underway at 7:30 PM.
