Lisa McCoy has been a State Farm Insurance agent for 15 years and opened her own agency in 2022. She understands the important role insurance plays in every aspect of people’s lives and works closely with her clients to find the coverage that
best meets their individual needs.

“What drew me to this career was the opportunity to work with people and build something of my own while making a difference in the community and in people’s personal lives,” McCoy told VSN. “Insurance touches so many parts of someone’s life. I enjoy getting to know people and helping them protect what they’ve worked hard for.”

McCoy helps clients with auto, home, renters and business insurance.

“Life insurance is something I especially like to talk about because people often put it off, even though protecting their family is one of their biggest priorities,” she said.

When choosing an insurance policy, McCoy emphasizes that while price is important, affordability goes beyond the monthly premium. She encourages clients to consider how much they can comfortably afford to pay out of pocket if they ever need to file a claim.

McCoy’s approach to working with clients is to first make them feel comfortable and ask questions.

“Insurance can be confusing, and no one should feel embarrassed because they don’t understand a term or how their coverage works. My approach is to listen, explain things in everyday language, and help people make decisions that fit their lives and budgets. I want my customers to know who they’re calling and feel comfortable reaching out.”

McCoy encourages clients to check in throughout life changes, such as buying a home or having a child, to make sure their insurance policies are still a good fit.

“You don’t have to figure it all out yourself. That’s what we’re here for. Ask questions, be honest about your budget and concerns, and have those conversations before something happens,” she said. “My goal is for people to feel informed, comfortable, and confident in the choices they make for themselves and their families.”
