The Hopewell Vikings football team will be a part of a new football event in Pittsburgh.
It’s been announced that Hopewell is one of six WPIAL teams that will play in the 412 Football Classic.
This will be a 3-day event that will take place at First National Bank Stadium in Pittsburgh (Pgh Riverhounds Stadium). Teams involved will be Hopewell, Moon, OLSH, Penn Hills, North Catholic and Neshannock.
Here is the schedule for the 3 games that announced. There’s talk that another game could be added.
2026 412 FOOTBALL CLASSIC
Thursday, October 15th: North Catholic vs. Neshannock
Friday, October 16th: Moon vs. Penn Hills
Saturday, October 17th: OLSH vs. Hopewell
Reportedly, there’s talk that another game could be added on Saturday, October 17th. Kickoff for these 3 games will take place at 7 PM.
The reason and purpose of these games is to showcase and give teams the chance to play at First National Bank Stadium. Jeff Garner, President of FNB Stadium is one record as saying that he wants this to become a yearly event.
