The Hopewell junior high girls’ basketball teams played at home Monday afternoon against Beaver.
Both teams worked hard and played well. The 8th grade girls walked away with a win, while the 7th grade team came up just short.
The 7th grade started strong but couldn’t pull out the win in a tight contest, losing 29-26.
Rilynn Davis was the top scorer with 14 points, followed by Nevaeh Pope (10) and Callie Sadler (2).
The Hopewell 8th grade team continued their strong play and came out with a 43-27 win. Â This win was a team effort with points spread out across the team.Â
Hopewell’s top scorer was Arionna Shell with 17 points followed by Amiyah Shell with 7, Dallas Boyd and Rilynn Davis each with 6, Afton Budris with 5 and Callie Sadler with 2. This win is even more impressive considering Hopewell played without one of their top players, Ellie McCoy.Â
