For the last couple of weeks, the Hopewell High School Boys basketball team have started preparations for the 2025-26 season with open gym sessions at the field house.

These open gyms are an opportunity for players to work on their conditioning, go through instructions and coaching from the high school staff as well as scrimmage amongst themselves. This will continue throughout the summer.

Next week, the competition will increase as the Vikings players will start competing against players from other schools. Today it was announced that Hopewell will take part in the 32nd Annual Pittsburgh Basketball Club Varsity League Summer League.

Hopewell will be competing against schools such as West Allegheny, Montour, Seton LaSalle, Aliquippa and Ellwood City. This will be great competition for the players as well as an opportunity for the new coaching staff to evaluate their entire roster and measure themselves against other schools.

Here is the schedule of games for Hopewell:

Tuesday, June 3rd: vs. West Allegheny at Cornell High School, 6 PM.

Thursday, June 5th: vs. Montour, at Sto-Rox Middle School, 8 PM.

Thursday, June 12: vs. Seton LaSalle at Hopewell High School, 7 PM.

Tuesday, June 17: vs. Aliquippa at Ambridge High School, 6:30 PM.
