Let’s go Hopewell, it’s time to help out a Viking player receive an award that he’s very much deserved of.
Hopewell senior Kingston Krotec has turned in one of the most clutch seasons in recent memory for a Hopewell Viking athlete in any sport.
Hopewell softball and youth baseball is sponsored by Lisa McCoy, your neighborhood State Farm agent.
Time after time after time this season, Krotec was needed to deliver on the mound and come up with a big performance and EVERY SINGLE TIME Krotec delivered.
That’s not just an opinion of mine, that’s a fact.
During 2026 section play, Krotec went to the mound after his team lost the previous day four times and all four times, Krotec pitched a gem, leading his team to a win. Those results were a huge factor in Hopewell finishing in second place in a very competitive section.
That clutch gene carried has also carried over to the playoffs as he was on the mound for Hopewell’s first two WPIAL playoff wins and then in their PIAA 1st round win over General McLane.
The bottom line is that Krotec is a winner and someone that produces when the spotlight is the brightest.
How about this stat line for Krotec on the mound in 2026:
Starts: 11
Record: 11-0
ERA: 0.78
Innings: 71.2
Complete Games: 9
Strikeouts: 58
Yes, you read that correctly, a record of 11-0 with a 0.78 ERA.
It’s no surprise that Krotec is one of the candidates for the 2026 Beaver County Times Baseball Player of the Year.
Let’s help get him the recognition that he deserves and get Krotec named the player of the year.
