College football’s recruiting dead period comes to an end tomorrow so expect things to pick up over the next couple months.
In fact, today Hopewell freshman quarterback James Armstrong heard from a couple major D-1 programs.
Armstrong received invitations from both Indiana and Northwestern to attend their prospects skills camp later this summer.

These skill camps are an opportunity for coaches to personally evaluate a player and to not put rely on their highlight tape in the event they are interested in offering them a scholarship.
Attending these camps also benefit the players as they get an opportunity to personally interact with coaches and to see the schools football facilities.
At this earlier stage of his recruitment, Armstrong has received offers from Pitt, Akron and Sacramento State, while also receiving visits from coaches from Penn State, Duke and Stanford.
Last season, Armstrong accounted for 2,200 total yards and 25 touchdowns in his first season as a varsity quarterback.
Currently, Armstrong is preparing for baseball season with with the Hopewell Vikings High School team.
