When looking at the Hopewell Vikings football roster, sophomores James Armstrong and Nasir Wade Are the two players that will be receiving the most D-1 interest.
Armstrong (6’3”, 220-pounds) already holds three Power Four offers (Pitt, Penn State and North Carolina ).
In terms of Wade, his recruitment has really just started despite holding offers from Buffalo and Akron.
On Saturday, those two Vikings standouts will be making unofficial visits to West Virginia for their season finale against Texas Tech.
Wade (5’9, 170-pounds) had a breakout sophomore season as it was his first season playing running back.
In a role as the lead back in Hopewell’s offense, Wade rushed for over 1,300 yards, while also picking up 365 receiving yards and over 200 yards as a punt and kickoff returner.

Having watched Wade all season, it was very impressive to see his growth in just his first season as a running back. It’s exciting to imagine the improvement he’ll make next season after an offseason of training and really learning the position.
In today’s college offense, Wade is a player D-1 teams will have interest in considering his breakaway speed, cutting ability and plays he can make as a pass catcher.
You get the sense that once the next couple offers come in for Wade, he’ll go on a recruiting heater of offers.
Good luck this Saturday to both Wade and Armstrong.
