The Hopewell HS Girls Volleyball team have started the season 2-0 with wins over Central Valley and Blackhawk.
Before starting section play on Tuesday against rival Quaker Valley, the Lady Vikings took part in a weekend tournament full of talented programs from around the WPIAL.
It was a successful weekend as Hopewell placed 3rd in the Butler “Spikefest” Volleyball Tournament.
Hopewell tied for first place with three other teams but received the fourth seed based on points scored in pool play.

11 teams participated in the ‘Spikefest” Tournament including a mix of AAAA, AAA, AA and A teams. Most of the sets were highly competitive in both pool play and the playoffs.
“I was very pleased with our performance,” Hopewell head coach Terry Borkovic told Vikings Sports Now “Winning a set from a powerful Seneca Valley squad was a confidence booster. Overall, it was a very good day of volleyball for the Hopewell girls.”
Looking ahead to this week, Hopewell travels to Quaker Valley on Tuesday before returning home on Thursday to take on Northgate.
