The 1st VSN/Shulligan’s Charity Golf Tournament a Big Success

With so many of them at this time of the year, it’s not easy to put together a charity golf tournament. However, thanks to amazing partners and a great community, we were able to have one.

Saturday was an amazing day as the inaugural Shulligan’s Bar and Grille/Vikings Sports Now Charity Golf Tournament took place at the Beaver Valley Golf Club. It was a perfect day weather wise for the golfers and all in all, it was a big success.

The main goal of Mike Shutak and myself was to raise money for Rush to Crush Cancer and the Alzheimer’s Association; Mission Accomplished. At the end of the day, we were able to collect $4,000 for those two worthy organizations.

Mike and I would like to thank a number of people for the help they provided because without them, this event and the success we had, wouldn’t have been possible.

First off, thank you to Beaver Valley Golf Club and their staff who were incredibly helpful throughout the day. Literrally, anything that was needed, they were there to help. From helping when the golfers arrived, to arranging our auction items inside and then the dinner afterwards. The food was amazing!

Equally as helpful were the many volunteers that were there to do whatever was needed, especially the many women from Rush to Crush Cancer. You guys were superstars, thank you! The Shutak family worked their tails off doing whatever was necessary to make it a great event. Thank you Renee, Lauren and Ashley.

We’d also like to thank all the families and businesses that bought a hole sponsorship, along with our incredible friends that donated items for our auction, which allowed us to raise money for Rush to Crush Cancer and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Last but not least, thank you to all of you that bought a foursome and participated by golfing. For our first event, we reached our goal of foursomes, which is incredible considering the amount of worthy local golf tournaments currently taking place. Because of you, this was a great day!

We’ll learn from what we did this year, add some things and look forward to putting on a better event in 2026!
