Mike Vukovcan The Hopewell Junior High Boys soccer was back in action on Wednesday as they took on rival Central Valley.
It was a back-and-forth game in the heat. Shortly after CV scored the first goal of the match, Enzo Crisci drove the ball into the opponent end and drew a penalty shot from a foul.

Colden Welte buried the PK to tie the game, 1-1.
Later in the first half, Welte played a beautiful corner kick to the back post and CJ Perry finished his shot into the net. Hopewell took the lead 2-1.
CV would answer later in the first half to tie the match at 2.
Although Hopewell would create opportunities in the 2nd half from Zach Garland, Carter DiCicco and Crisci, they were unable to score.
Goalkeeper Josh Sutton and defenders Juian Swenson, Colden Welte, and Kellan Kesow stepped up to protect the defensive side of the field and end the match in a 2-2 tie.
Hopewell will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Avonworth.
